I was born on May 5th 1975 in Hollywood, FL. I started riding a 1978 Honda Mini Trail at the age six and rode various styles and brands of dirt based powersport machines throughout my childhood. I joined the Marine Corps at the age of 18 and proudly served my country for eight years. I bought my first street bike before I turned 19. I purchased a 1988 Honda Hurricane 600 for $800 and have never stopped loving the hobby. After my second tour in the Marines I was honorably discharged in San Bruno, CA, and stayed in California for another two years.

One day I thought about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life and wondered why not take the activity that I am most passionate about and make it my career. I did so, and left California to pursue an education in Motorcycle Mechanics. I attended Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) in Orlando, FL for a little over a year. I graduated number one in my class of over 150 students. I achieved such awards as: Honda Top Tech, Suzuki Top Tech, Suzuki Select Tech, Perfect Attendance Award, Director’s List Award and more. I started my career as a technician at Ride Now Powersports of Orlando. I moved up through the service department to Head Service Advisor and after approximately 5 years, left the company to pursue a Service Manager position at KMS in Kissimmee, FL.

My next step was to open my own business, and that came sooner than I thought. I opened Southern Cycles with Josh Welch in early July 2010. We started out in a two bay garage/warehouse and within a few months outgrew it and had to expand into a four bay set up. I love having the opportunity to provide the high quality customer service and mechanical knowledge that I have gained throughout my life. I look forward to working with every customer that walks through our door and am proud our business standards reflect just that.

In 2013, we expanded our business to meet the needs of our growing customer base. We moved into a larger facility in the same area as our previous location. We love that we are able to support the Apopka community as well as the surrounding Central Florida area.
